The UK has the most comprehensive anti-bribery legislation in the world by virtue of the Bribery Act 2010.

While this assists in enhancing the UK’s reputation as a world class business destination it also poses unique and complex issues for businesses who wish to avoid prosecution or enforcement action. The Bribery Act establishes the following four key offences:

  • Bribing another person

  • Bribing a foreign public official
  • Failure of a relevant commercial organisation to prevent bribery

The liability that can arise for such breaches is both personal and corporate and liability can attach to a parent company. Our services include anti-corruption guidance, advice on all aspects of the legislation, representation during investigation and at trial.
